Stromae to Play Private Event at SXSW: Live Streaming Available

Stromae and his team have departed Europe and are on their way to the United States to begin the 2015 Racine Carrée tour. First stop: the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, where Stromae’s third performance at SXSW 2015 was announced today.

He’s already on the bills at the Spotify House and NPR Music Showcase, and now The Fader, an award-winning independent music magazine known for covering emerging trends in music, style, and culture, will host Stromae at this year’s FADER FORT. He’ll play a short set on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 18 before heading over to the NPR Showcase event later in the evening. The FADER FORT is invitation-only, but if you haven’t received an invitation yet, don’t worry–the entire 4-day event will be streaming live in 4K on, where there will also be additional updates and coverage. Stromae will perform from 4:30-4:55 (US Central Time) on Wednesday, March 18. The event marks the first-ever time a concert will be live-streamed in 4K.

This is the FADER FORT’s 14th year at SXSW. MediaBistro writes, The Fader is “as well known for what it does outside its pages as it is for the about-to-break musicians it puts on them, maybe even more so.” Fader makes each issue available on iTunes as a free PDF, and Fader president and publisher Andy Cohn has said, “We’re not ever going to be married to one medium.” Sounds like Straome and Fader are a match made in heaven.
